Why It Matters?

The Lopez Food Center is a vital resource, providing nutritious food to more than 1,000 individuals monthly. With more than 2,000 individuals eligible for low-income services, we are expecting a rise in need.

What's In it For Lopezians?

This Community-Driven Project Will Provide:

  • A permanent home for the Lopez Island Food Bank
  • A food hub to connect local farmers with buyers
  • Commercial kitchen space for small food businesses and entrepreneurs
  • A gathering place for educational programs and recovery support groups

Why Now?

The Timing is Urgent

  • Shovel-ready: Permits are submitted, and construction estimates are complete
  • Limited grant options: State and county funds primarily support housing, making private and federal funding essential
  • No traditional loans available:Tenants are small businesses and nonprofits that cannot afford market-rate rents, making bank financing impossible
