A “one-stop” shared use food facility on Lopez Island, WA

The proposed facility will offer spaces to strengthen the local food system with community services, a community kitchen, commercial and retail activities. The facility will be developed with a LEED certified energy-saving design on a 1.15-acre parcel on Weeks Road, west of the post office in Lopez Village.

The Lopez Food Center plans include:

  • Distribution site for the San Juan Islands Food Hub
  • Food business incubator retail space and support
  • Community kitchen
  • Food storage rental space
  • Home for the LIFRC Food Share Program (food bank)
  • Meeting space for Heart and Soul, a Recovery Cafe Program
  • Classroom and pop-up venue
  • Food Skills Training Program
  • Parking for Food Trucks
